Zachary has a love/hate relationship with books. Sometimes, he will sit there and let me read to him for hours and sometimes he will just talk over me and act silly, when I try to read him a story. It depends on his mood and energy. His favourite time for reading books is before a nap, or before bedtime, when he is slightly tired :) Books and being hyper, just don't go well together, haha.
I am a big fan of traditional books, with lots of words and proper stories, but... with all the technology kids get to use these days, it can be hard to keep them interested. Again, it depends on your child. They might be little bookworms, which is fab!
We were kindly sent the All Aboard Interactive Storybook* (£9.99) last week and it is the first proper interactive book in our collection. I have bought books with sounds and music, but this one is different. It asks questions or gives your child a choice and there are over 30 possibilities, depending on your childs answer. It is a totally different concept and I find it very interesting and fun. Zachary absolutely loves it! He replies to Connor the conductor and shouts 'PARTY' at the end, when the train arrives in Celebration City.
You have to read the phrases marked in white really clearly and sometimes I have to do it 2-3 times to get the book to register it, but I just find it funny :) It's not my accent btw, because Siri understands me perfectly :) haha
The book feels sturdy and it includes gorgeous illustrations. It comes with 3 AA 1.5V batteries and it is suitable for ages 3+. Zachary just turned 3 and he understood all the questions and replied to them, so 3 is the perfect age for it in my opinion. The book gets big thumbs up from me and I would definitely recommend it for your toddler.
