Pregnancy Update: 13 weeks (bye, bye 1st trimester!)

I announced my pregnancy on my beauty blog over 2 weeks ago (HERE), but I will continue with the updates here. That's one of the reasons why I started M&BB, I just wanted to keep baby stuff separate, if possible. I am now officially in my 2nd trimester and I can honestly feel a massive difference in the way I feel. My nausea is gone, I am not exhausted anymore, I am not ill and I am actually feeling great! Fingers crossed it continues to go smoothly for the next 6 months.

How far along? I am 13 weeks and 6 days pregnant today.

Size of the baby? It's the size of a peach at 14 weeks!

Scans? I had my private scan at 11 weeks and have my first NHS scan tomorrow! Can't wait to see the baby again and confirm that everything is ok.

Total weight gain: I lost 6lbs in my 1st trimester due to feeling horrible, but I am assuming that I will start putting a little bit of weight on from week 20.

Maternity clothes? Not yet, although I have some maternity dresses that I have been wearing even when I wasn't pregnant :) haha.

Stretch marks? Only from my 1st pregnancy, allover my body, so I am not bothered about getting more. I don't even care anymore. I have other priorities :)

Sleep? Not good at all. I  keep getting up for a wee 2-3 times per night. Basically I get 8-9 hours of VERY interrupted sleep. With an ill toddler, who seems to be catching every illness possible from nursery, I have been getting up to check on him and cuddle him every time he makes a noise. He had conjunctivitis as well and woke up with his eyelids glued shut for a couple of days :'(  Zachary is normally  a very good sleeper and sleeps for 10-12 hours per night, so I can't wait till he feels better. My poor angel :(

Best moments this week. I think I felt the baby move, but I am not sure. Apparently you can feel it earlier in your 2nd pregnancy so it could be the baby :) With Zachary, I felt his first moves at 16/17 weeks.

Miss anything? Not looking like a whale. Seriously... I basically look like I am super bloated, which isn't cute. When you are fat, people are really confused if you are just fat or pregnant. #fatgirlproblems PS. I don't blame them :)  Oh, I know one thing I don't miss - periods :)

Movement? Possibly, as mentioned before, but I am not 100% sure if it was the baby.

Cravings? Polish food! I just want my mums dinners! YUUUUUM!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Smell of fried pork sausages- VOM! Every time my husband cooks them, I want to move out! :O Anything fried makes me feel nauseous.

Gender? I think we will find out at my 20 week scan :) We might go for a private scan at 16 weeks though. I am sooo impatient! I am hoping for a girl this time, but I will be super happy with a boy too, as I already picked a name for him, haha. I am struggling with girl names at the moment.

Labour signs? Nope.

Symptoms? All the symptoms I had in my 1st trimester are gone. YAY!

Belly button in or out? In. It was in throughout my full pregnancy with Zac, so I would be seriously shocked if I got an 'outie' this time.

Wedding rings on or off?  Off.

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy 90% of the time :)

Looking forward to: My scan on Monday :)

I will be updating you again when I reach 15 weeks. Have a lovely Sunday.

Sandra x

  1. I'm glad to hear that you're feeling so much better now. Being sick all the way through is horrible and gets so depressing!

  2. Yay! So happy for you, Sandra. I love reading pregnancy updates and I'm glad to hear your annoying symptoms for the 1st trimester are now gone. I wasn't as I lucky as you and mine didn't go away until the end of the 2nd trimester, but I've started to feel human again the last couple of weeks. I also can't stand the smell of fried sausages - actually anything fried at all! Hope you manage to catch up on some sleep and looking forward to reading your 15 weeks update!

    Love,
    Ysis x
